C4D Cafe: Introduction to Clothes Modeling Tutorial
Covered in the tutorial:
•Modelling using a Construction plane
•Create polygon tool
•Snapping
•Mirror tool
•Clone tool
•Bridge tool
•Knife tool
•Stitch and Sew tool. The video includes a mini tutorial on using the Stitch and Sew tool as the documentation for this tool is confusing and incomplete

“What I wanted to do in this version rather than spend too much time on actual modelling, I wanted to explain and demonstrate some of the logic behind why you would model using subdivison surfaces and how it works i.e. using a low polygon control mesh smoothed by Subdivision surfaces. Towards the end of the video I demonstrate Mirror / Symmetry modelling using a Symmetry object then move on and demonstrate how to mirror model not using a Symmetry object but instead use a plugin like TrueSymmetry or CD Symmetry.”

“In this intermediate to advanced level tutorial you will learn to use primitives, SweepNurbs, complex materials, and the hair module to create this very interesting abstract Eye with Hair. Using Advanced Render to create a sharp and convincing final image will also be discussed.”

3D Kiwi at C4D Cafe is back in action with a new tutorial on splines.
Spline Basics covers:
Spline Primitives
Using built in selection sets on ExtrudeNURBS and SweepNURBS objects to apply materials to the Caps and Roundings
Fillet caps on ExtrudeNURBS and SweepNURBS objects
Text splines and making individual letters using Hierarchy option on ExtrudeNURBS object
Making extruded objects with holes
Spline types and interpolation
Creating splines manually. Mini project of modelling a bottle
Using splines with ExtrudeNURBS, Sweep Nurbs, LatheNURBS and Loft NURBS objects
Chamfering spline points
Doing a “Current state to object” command on the spline to get more points
Outlining splines
Projecting splines on to objects and problem solving. The image above is from the mini project.

“In this tutorial, I show you how to make a spinning glass block animation with Cinema 4D, Mograph and refraction. It’s based on an animation by Lumiere Studios. Stay tuned for part 2 of the tutorial where we bring the final render in after effects and do the final composite.”

“The new shader plugin STACX 1.0 enables three-dimensional textures. You can stack up to 32 shaders and connect them with several functions. This way you´ll get a spacial material that you can use like a volume shader. ”
