Microbion releases Quick Render

Quick Render (hereafter ‘QR’) is a workflow plugin intended to speed up test renders of a complex image. Say you have a scene which uses features such as sub-polygon displacement, global illumination, ambient occlusion, large bitmaps, the hair module, and blurry reflections. On the average machine, that may take quite some time to render, which is annoying when doing test renders. Sometimes you don’t want to see all of those effects when testing something, but unless you turn them off in the render settings (and then remember to turn them back on again when you want them) your test renders can be very slow.

Tutorial – Xpresso Iterator Nodes

“Hi everyone. I’ve out done myself and produced an epic 1 hour 43 minute advanced XPresso tutorial on using Iterator nodes i.e. Hierarchy node, Iteration node, Tag node, Material node, ObjectList node and Selection node. Plus other nodes like Range Mapper, Condition, Compare and Distance are used. If you not sure what the Interator nodes do, they allow you to reuse XPresso on multiple objects, tags, materials etc. This allows some very cool things to be done.

This tutorial is not suitable for beginners and it assumes you have some knowledge of XPresso. MoGraph is used a couple of times throughout the tutorials but generally you can do most of what’s in the videos without it. Any version of Cinema 4D from Release 8 upwards should be able to follow along.” -3D Kiwi

Simon explores how to combine Thinking Particles with the Mograph-module, metaball, and deformers to animated objects. This technique can be used to add different layers of animation on top of each other and give you a greater control over your animations/simulations.
